Job Description

An opportunity is available to join the staff of our popular and high achieving 11-16 Church of England Academy. All Saints opened as a new build school in September 2003 with an intended capacity of 600 students. In 2017 Governors commenced the expansion of our student intake from 120 to 150 each year to achieve a revised net capacity of 750.This has been revised further to allow for expansion to a net capacity of 900, commencing September 2019.

We are currently seeking to appoint an academy Wellbeing Counsellor to work within our supportive team. We are ideally looking for someone who will oversee a whole school service, delivering therapeutic support across KS3 and KS4, providing a range of interventions from one-to-one counselling, group work, supporting teachers and parents and the academy. This is a great opportunity to work in a school that has a commitment to the delivery of high impact pastoral care underpinned by early intervention and who value the benefits of having an in-school counselling service.

To be successful you will need to be extremely well organised, the ability to prioritise your workload and ensure that strict deadlines can be met. The ability to work on your own initiative and work within a team environment is key. You will hold a recognised counselling or therapy qualification with substantial post-qualifying experience. Understand how schools work in partnership with clinical practitioners and the importance of these relationship. Undertake work with parents, carers, and school staff and to hold a clinical caseload with children/young people.
