Hidden Heroes

Posted on March 12th 2019

"We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbours for their good, to build them up."

Romans 15:1–2

Think of the people we only notice when things go wrong: the cleaners when someone spills their lunch, the ICT team when a laptop goes wrong, the caretaker when a door handle falls off. Do we notice them at any other time? It might just take a thank you but this is an easy and really noticeable way to make a difference to someone.

As we go through Lent, spare a thought for those who are out, day after day, ensuring that our school environment is a safe place to learn. Instead of complaining that the sandwich you want isn’t available and moaning to those who provide a service, build them up by praying for them. Spare a thought for all the staff who work outside of the classroom. They truly are our hidden heroes.
