Joining Year 7 in September 2026
Choosing a secondary school is a very important step for parents and children. We would advise that you start to consider your options early, finding out about entry criteria and which school genuinely fits your child best. Children also need time to adjust to the idea of their new school.
As a Church Academy, All Saints do have some additional information to consider if you are thinking about applying for a faith based place.
All Saints is an Academy that firmly believes ‘every child matters equally to God’. It is an environment where every child is seen as an individual and where every member of staff is dedicated to ensuring that students are supported to achieve their potential in all that they do. We have an unrivalled reputation for supporting and guiding our students to fulfil their potential. Our staff are a well-qualified team who ensure that our students are prepared for each new step they take. We pride ourselves that our
transition process supports our new students to make the move from primary to secondary school
easily and successfully.

Summer Term Transition Events
Transition Days Monday 29th June, Wednesday 1st July and Friday 3rd Jul 08:45-15:00.
All students come to the academy on all three days. Students will be placed into groups for the transition days to help them meet some of their new peers, and will experience a variety of lessons across the three transition days. Students will need to come to school in their primary school PE kit on one of the transition days, and in their full primary school uniform for their other two days. They will need to bring packed lunch on the first two days, but will have the opportunity to get a school dinner on the Friday. Arrangements for this will be made closer to the time, including for students who receive Free School Meals.
You will find out which group your child is in, and which day they will need to come in their PE kit, prior to the transition week.
Welcome Evening
On Monday 13 July 2026 at 5pm all students and parents/carers will be invited to a welcome evening.
Enhanced transition
We run an enhanced transition process for students with additional needs, with support from our Educational Psychologist. Members of staff have already been visiting primary schools to start this process. If your child has any special educational needs (SEN), or you have any concerns regarding your child’s mental health and how this may impact their transition to secondary school, we are running drop-in sessions with our Educational Psychologist and members of the SEN team on
Tuesday 5th May at the following times: 09:30 – 11:00, 14:00 – 15:30 and 16:30 – 18:00.
Please feel free to attend any one of these sessions.
