Charity this Christmas

Posted on November 11th 2018

TrussellThe Trussell Trust runs the largest network of foodbanks in the UK, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis. Thirteen million people live below the poverty line and in the last year they gave 1,332,952 three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.

This Christmas we are asking our students to support our local foodbank by donating one item each to go into their tutor group box. We have boxes all over the school, in all tutor rooms and in the staff room and office areas!

We would like to thank Norton Packaging, a local supplier of eco-friendly recycled boxes who provided 30 boxes completely free of charge. Their moto is ‘Changing the world, one box at a time…’ and their generosity will help us positively impact the lives of local families this Christmas.

What’s in the box? Hopefully with your support we will fill the boxes with some of the following:

·       Tinned tomatoes

·       Tinned fruit/custard

·       Juice

·       Pasta/curry sauces

·       Coffee

·       UHT Milk

·       Washing Powder

·       Tinned Rice Pudding

·       Sugar

This list is not exhaustive and while students have been asked to bring only one item each we will happily donate as much as we receive.
