Christmas appeal 2016Posted on December 16th 2016
This week leading up to Christmas several students from the Academy had the exciting opportunity to deliver our Christmas appeal charity boxes to our 5 chosen charities: Harbour, A Way Out, The Christian Centre, Lustrum vale Mental Health Unit and a local women’s refuge.
The students along with Mrs Hepplewhite had their first special delivery at A Way Out. The staff there weren’t expecting our Christmas boxes so were extremely pleased to receive them. Students then went on to Harbour where they were thanked with festive drinks and snacks.
On Wednesday December 14th our special delivery continued at the women’s’ refuge in Stockton. Students and Mrs Hepplewhite were shown around the unit which was just like “a lovely house”. After this visit they went onto the Christian Centre and all of the boxes were put into a room and students then went into a hall and had chance to chat with some of the homeless people who were very grateful for their gifts. Here, they had lunch which was soup, Christmas dinner followed by Christmas pudding. Some students even helped serve the gravy!
As a thank you for all their hard work, Santa even made an appearance at The Christian Centre and gave the students a well-earned selection box.
All of the charities would like to say a massive thankyou to all students and staff from All Saints who have contributed to the boxes which will help make their Christmas a happier one.
Adam Bell has also written an article about these 2 special days in this term’s Human Writes so you can read all about it there too.
